Coaching Authorization Renewal Requirements

All applications and renewal documents for the coaching authorization are now accepted only through our online system. All documents are to be uploaded into this online system.

 

Processing time is doubled for incomplete applications. So make sure you read and submit a complete and accurate application.

 

Allow 2-4 weeks to process.  1 year extensions are available for urgent situations.  Extensions cannot be issued back to back.  

 

There are no additional requirement for renewing an expired license.  The only difference between the expired coaching authorization and the current authorization is that a person cannot coach with the expired license.

Coaches are not required to repeat the classes.

 

The following 5 items are required.

 

1.  CPR. 

2.  Concussion from the National Federation of High Schools (not the Heads Up Version) See below

3.  Mandatory reporter of child AND DEPENDENT ADULT abuse certificate.  BOTH child AND adult versions are required.

4.  Any rules meeting, NFHS video, or workshop, clinic (can be verified by the school AD/Admin).  College credit, AEA

     licensure credit, or renewal activity from NEACA, Kirkwood, or Iowa Lakes Community College. 

5.  Any rules meeting, NFHS video, or workshop, clinic (can be verified by the school AD/Admin).  College credit, AEA

     licensure credit, or renewal activity from NEACA, Kirkwood or Iowa Lakes Community College.

 

** Ethics for educators is required for an old coaching authorization issued before July, 1 2000 if this is the first renewal.  **Ethics training is available from Heartland AEA online learning and can count for number 4 or 5 above.
